Omni Hotel Dallas Review – Where to Stay in Dallas
The Omni Hotel & Resort Downtown Dallas is a elegant contemporary hotel and resort located in, you guessed it, downtown Dallas and is conveniently attached to the Dallas Convention Center. Downtown Dallas is rapidly growing and so is this hotel, they’re currently adding new restaurants and shops to the property which has been under construction for several months.
The most distinguishing feature of this beautiful hotel is only seen by night, each level of the hotel is framed with LED’s that make the building dance with all the colors of the rainbow. Truly a sight to see.
As we said, they’ve been under construction, so actually getting into the parking lot or valet can be tricky. Once you arrive, the staff is quick to help with any bags, etc. The lobby is clean and bright with local artwork featured behind the check in desk. The Lounge has incredible seating with quick service drinks. This Omni also loves their fire, they have a couple of long fire places that line the walls of the lobby and lounge.
The Omni is a bustling 4 Star hotel with 5 Star service. The staff is friendly and attentive, especially the valets. Front desk lines can sometimes get a little hectic due to the mass amount of conventions going on at this hotel, but despite all the chaos the staff seems to handle everything including the occasional disgruntled customer with finesse. We have stayed here several times and have only had one issue (we had to wait 1 hour for our room to be ready, which the staff addressed quickly and comped our parking and room service.)
From the Regular King Room to the Executive Suites all the bedding at Omni Dallas is plush… the pillows are to die for. We especially enjoy the LED motion light (which is more of a nightlight) on the nightstand which kicks on at ankle level when you get up for a late night run to the bathroom. This stay we got upgraded to the Executive King Suite and we must say the bed was exceptional as well as the lounge area. We highly recommend booking an suite if you’ll be staying here an extended period of time.. the extra space to spread out in is great!
Marble floors, walk in in shower with lever mounted on opposite wall (means you don’t get blasted with cold water when you turn on) and eco-friendly toilets are what you get in most of the Omni rooms. The mirror also have a small screen TV so you can watch the big game or the news.
Even at the busiest time we’ve never experienced a wait over 30 mins for food. We both prefer the breakfast menu over the others, our favorites are the Brisket Hash (amazing) and the Eggs Benedict but pretty much all items are tasty. If you’re there for lunch we recommend trying the Fish Tacos with chips and salsa.
We have been to the following restaurants located inside the hotel Texas Spice, The Sports Bar and Bobs Chop House. Texas Spice is a great spot for Tapas style plates and cocktails, we usually pop in for a few cocktails before heading off into the night. The sports bar, is exactly what you’d think…crowded..sports…wings…beer…lots of tvs.. but they do have a little outdoor patio which is great when the crowds get to intense inside. Bobs Chop House, is more upscale and laid back with high quality steak and seafood offerings. Bobs is ranked among some of the top in the nation as a steak house, we both found the food to be good, but nothing too special.
Would we go back?
Ben: Yes, I actually have us booked there before our next departure from Dallas.
Sadey: I’m a creature of habit, I’ll go back again and again…
