Le Black Dog sits just a quick jaunt from the Chátlet Metro Station in the 3rd Arr. of Paris. This bar and restaurant boasts one of the best places to eat and drink in the city and the best part: no tourist, no preppy douche bags – just cool people having a good time.

The Vibe:

The vibe at Le Black Dog is METAL. Dim light, rock walls, chain hung chandlers, stairs leading to a cave-like bathroom, all leading to an imminent feeling of doom as you chill out in the rock n roll dungeon.

What To Get:

This no-frills rock bar has a great selection of beer, whisky and even a few absinthe’s. I always go for a shot of bourbon and a beer, for some reason it just feels right. Sadey often goes for the Absinthe and it is quite good here. Whatever your poison, get your order in mind before you hit the bar as this place can get busy and they will skip over you if you aren’t sure of what you want to drink.

The Staff:

These rock n rollers at Le Black Dog are always laid back and friendly. We’ve been here more times than I can count and everyone is welcoming, the patrons are interesting and we’ve met a lot of really cool people just sitting at the bar and having at beer.

Final Thoughts:

Le Black Dog’s Motto is “In Metal We Trust” and they couldn’t be more on point. Loud Heavy Metal Music blasting, ice cold brews, shots of whisky and an absinthe chaser? This place is by far one of my all time favorite bars in the world. Le Black Dog is a Paris institution when it comes to a Rock n Roll dive bar. ::TIP:: Make reservations for the restaurant in the back, you’ll be glad you did – they serve up some of the best Argentina food I’ve ever had. Not a bad way to sober up, if you ask me. Have a favorite bar or watering hole that needs to be featured on Ben’s Best Bars? Email me here and I’ll check it out when I pass through. Until Next time….Cheers!
