We’re Entering the Final Phase of The Merger.

This merger has been bittersweet for us, we’ve been flying with Virgin America since the beginning and even were shareholders when they went public. Now Alaska is taking over and for us Dallas Love travelers that means flight schedule changes, route cancellations and the possibility of no future flights from DALLAS LOVE. Our beloved direct DAL to LAS (Vegas) flight is disappearing soon and we fear this is only the beginning of what is to come. Below is a summary via email we received regarding the final days of America’s last great airline.

Virgin America and Alaska Mileage Plan Update

As we combine our two airlines over the next two years, we want to ensure that you have the information you need to make your travel the best experience possible. Check back here for the most up-to-date information as we continue our mission to build an airline people love.

Flight Plan: What to expect as Merge

As a Mileage Plan™ elite member, you can expect the following benefits when traveling on a Virgin America flight, whether your flights are booked directly with Virgin America or booked at alaskaair.com (e.g. ASXXXX operated by Virgin America).

As we continue the work to combine our airlines, you will receive even greater benefits. In 2017, our goal is to provide you with benefits comparable to what Elevate elite members receive when flying Virgin America.

Please keep in mind that this means your experience will differ depending on the operating carrier for your flight, and certain Mileage Plan benefits like complimentary First Class upgrades, and complimentary in-flight beverages for MVP® Gold and 75K will only be available when you’re flying on Alaska.
